A PERSONALIZED APPROACH

Your journey is unique, and your therapy should be too.

Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all. It is a deep and personal experience. My approach is rooted in empathy and understanding, creating a safe and non-judgmental space where you can explore, heal, and grow. I combine evidence-based practices with a deep understanding of human emotions and experiences, ensuring that your journey is both effective and tailored to your unique needs.

YOU ARE AT THE HEART OF WHAT WE DO

A Few Ways You Can Work With Me

8.png

Individual Therapy

My goal is to support, educate and guide you out of pain. I work with individuals to address a range of mental health issues, including depression, prolonged grief, trauma responses, and anxiety, as well as those dealing with the impact of addiction and problems related to long-term recovery.

I help you develop the skills to change what’s keeping you stuck.

Our beliefs impact how we think, which impacts how we feel, which impacts how we behave. Together we will identify the unhealthy thoughts and behaviors that may be triggering your stress, anxiety, depression or anger. We’ll explore any unresolved family issues that are impacting your relationships. And you’ll learn new ways of thinking and responding to change what isn’t working. My goal is to help you become consistent with the work we do together, and I work individually with clients and together with their loved ones and family members as needed.

Couples Therapy

Even at their best, relationships take hard work.

Relationship patterns develop over time. Communication problems and unfair fighting often create tension, anger, sadness and resentment in the relationship. If nothing changes, one or both of you can feel a disconnect – and eventually you may stop trying.

In couples therapy, we focus on tearing down unhealthy patterns and creating higher levels of intimacy and understanding. Together we pinpoint the patterns that create stress, conflict or roadblocks in the relationship. Explore how your own “stuff” gets in the way of who you want to be in the relationship. And work towards learning healthier ways of addressing and resolving issues through better communication and fair fighting.

Family Therapy

Counseling can help your family get back on track.

Families often stop communicating because nothing ever changes. When family members interact the same way over and over, their behaviors turn into patterns – usually without anyone realizing it. As these patterns repeat themselves, it gets harder for individuals to feel heard, included and respected. Over time they give up, believing that things are never going to be any different.

Family counseling helps parents and family members understand each other’s needs and fosters a healthy commitment to change. We explore the roles being played in the family and identify the underlying patterns that have developed as a result. We discuss the positive changes each person needs to make to shift the family dynamic. And together we find ways to improve communications and develop tools for coping with or resolving difficult situations.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the difference between talking to a friend and talking to a therapist?
A friend may tell you what you want to hear or what he/she may feel themselves. A therapist will listen, assess, and guide you to discover your truth, on your terms.
  • What can I expect on my very first session with you?
A friendly face, a woman looking to slowly gain your trust. Your first visit will be whatever you need it to be. I am eager to lean in and learn more about what brings you to me. No need to prepare or script a first session outline, however, I am always open to giving you a couple thought- welcoming your ideas/questions during an initial consultation.
  • What is expected of me as a new patient?
    Just show up as YOU!
  • How do I know when I need to see a therapist?
I am a firm believer that YOU alone can make whatever change it is you’re looking for in life. However, there comes a time when one might need some guidance, some direction- that’s when it’s time to seek some help. If what you’ve been trying isn’t working, therapy might be a great next step. If you’re thoughts and feelings are taking you to an increasing negative space despite implementing your own methods of healing- it’s time to make that call, create that change with someone by your side.
  • Does my insurance cover therapy?
Yes. We can explore the coverage you currently have and if your insurance offers this support service.
  • How long is therapy?
Therapy is a very personalized process. For some it may be brief, and some find themselves embarking in the therapeutic journey long-term. I will provide you with on-going feedback and assessment throughout your time in treatment.
